Welcome to the Zen Motel, Cala… well… Riffs Blackpool actually ;)

I was looking forward to a Friday Night trip to Riffs (my new favorite venue after the Sign/Wildhearts/GU Medicine tour) and Blackpool !!, to see Zen Motel (Whose albums are getting played more and more regularly on MyPod) . It had also been earmarked as part of the birthday celebration of the mighty Michelle Riot ….. James’ far better half (I’ll not say anything about them as I cant think of anything thats repeatable or printable …. other than I love ‘em!

The Sign Army Attack The Download Festival … with some GU Medicine

This is the most difficult blog I’ve had to write for many reasons but 7.5% proof “Apple Juice” for breckie and my inability to recall names seriously hampered my recollection of “events” and what day they were on …. Perhaps (no definately) a good thing for me.

Sunday Night Breakdown (& FuryUK)

We have been excited at the prospect of seeing Breakdown play live since they put a Vid clip on their mySpace months ago. The venue was a blacked out pub basement (The Retro Bar) … reminded me of 1950′s Soho but there was no jazz here…. just strait up classic rock tunes of the highest caliber, played with dexterity and passion not often felt. The amazing fact is that the power house of the band is 4 foot nothing and their combined ages, of this three piece, is ….. na …. I’m not gonna tell you coz it will make you weep.

Disarm, Candy Apple Sour, Important Looking Pirates – UTB – Sheffield

Well!…. the day started with a bit of a panic coz we thought Under The Boardwalk was 18+ …. Brad from Disarm seemed desperate for us to make it and checked with the venue and said it was deffo OK, Thanks man …. but it is such a long way to travel with being turned away a possibility, so we were pleased to get in without any probs as soon as the doors opened at eight o’clock……. Prior to that we spent on hour trying to find an open coffee shop in the city centre, not fun and the coffee we were served was worse and more expensive than Moto etc. 8(

Patchwork Grace – The Assembly Rooms, Derby

There were a few bands we wanted to see gigging this weekend but we ended up at The Assembly Rooms in Derby to see Patchwork Grace …. not just coz their a favorite of BitchinRockDaughter but because it was an all ages venue ….. Its no-wonder live music has a problem attracting audiences when youngsters can’t accompany their parents to gigs in small intimate (pub) venues …

Sweet SWEET Seduction ………

I know this is a month or so too late and fekks up the order of this blog thing and probably will therefore bring the entire internet BUT we’ve not mentioned one of the highlights of “2007 Year Of Rock “to date ….. Sweet Seduction supporting the mighty SWEET ….. what a send off it was for me on my month-long European tour (Well some Irish band came allong to help me out).
The trip to the Robin2 doubled as a Road Test for the new-to-us Camper that we’d just got and what a stressful trip it was too as it appeared to be overheating at every hill. So we arrived “fasionably” late (alot of sweating & £80 to an Iveco garage later it was diagnised as a dicky warning light thank dog)

BitchinTour

It may have seemed a bit quiet on BitchinRockPhotos front the past month or so. But behind the scenes theres been a lot going on.
Mr Rob spent over a month touring with Glyder. They were support to the mighty Thunder on the European tour. Some awesome piccis of the Glyder guys in the Gallery, go check them out. For the last week of the tour Pedro joined the guys. Sounds like they had a great time.
