*Heaven’s Basement, Stolen Order & Bad Remedy* @ Madhatters, Inverness Sun 28th Feb 2010

MrRob took pics at Edinbuurgh gig last night, his pics will be online sometime soon
It was a beautiful drive up to Inverness, through snow covered mountains and beautiful sky above (almost all the way) . I snapped away as MrRob drove along.
Pics are from drive up and back
We’d stopped at Mountain Cafe in Aviemore http://www.mountaincafe-aviemore.co.uk for a beautiful lunch (if you’re ever up that part of Scotland, I can recommend going there. They have beautiful, friendly staff and the food is superb. They are really aware of food allergies, menu is clearly marked. So it was great to be able to eat out and know I wouldn’t be ill
After eventually putting the correct postcode in Tom Tom, we found the hotel. Booked in, freshened up and headed to venue about 2 miles away.
Having been to Madhatters before, I was prepared for a small venue, with very little room for merch BUT the gig had been moved into the big bar downstairs, with the stage set up in the window. Loads of room for band and crowd.
Merch was set up at back of venue, where we had a great view of the stage. Love it
First on were Bad Remedy http://www.myspace.com/badremedy
Musically, they have potential, … James Dice (former guitaris of Stolen Order) is a confident guitarist, he looks at home on the stage
but I didn’t think much of Lanna’s vocals…..I’m told this was their first gig, so maybe it was down to nerves
Next up were the crazy Stolen Order http://www.myspace.com/stolenorder
Toby is a fantastically, crazy front man…he even had his hair, eyebrows and beard bleached for this gig;) Something to do with looking like Jonny Rocker and a bet…I’ll leave Toby do the explaining.
He entertained the crowd with his antics, jumping off stage, rolling around the floor….and as for those trousers
See pics
Some new material from the guys tonight, a much meatier, heavier sound to what I’m used to from them. But I like ![]()
Heaven’s Basement http://www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial
This is the 5th gig with Johnny Fallen as frontman and it just gets better and better. Heaven’s Basement were fantastic before when Richie fronted, but bringing in Johnny has given the band a new lease of life. I had the pleasure of leaving MrRob in front of merch and I joined Sabra and friends down the front (my first time on this tour). WOW is all I can say
For the final song, Executioner’s Day, Johnny’s mic decided to die. Turning to Sid, he was offered Sid’s mic, but upon grabbing it, the lead came out and it wouldn’t work again
BUT did that stop them?? No way!!! Johnny climbed on the bannister asked the crowd to sing and conducted them from up high. …
Sid handed his guitar out to Sabra and she held it up high , strumming away while the band finished their set
What a night !!
My last blog describes our nightmare drive back to North Yorkshire next day, but it was more than worth it for such a fantastic weekend.
