Flyleaf – Leeds & The Crave – Portsmouth, Nottingham & Leeds – 22nd to 24th March, 2010

It was quite hard work to get good photos on this tour. With little room for photographers to move with all the venues either sold out or very nearly full to capacity, low stages, no “photo pits” or stage lighting that was almost impossible to work with. I thought Id just pick one venue … Leeds Cockpit … to really concentrate on getting some good shots over the crowd as I have always got at least some good shots here in the past.

Flyleaf – Leeds
The venue was so crowded the only way I could get any shots was to stand in the door ways that inter connect the bar and venue and hold the camera over my head … it was the most difficult time I have had here but I am happy with the results even if the lighting was not as bright as before …

The Crave – Leeds
It was only slightly less crowded than for the headlines … the first few photos are from sound check …

The Crave – Nottingham
I had the photo pit to myself … shame the was NO light to work with … I ended up by the mixing desk but even from here things didn’t look good with too much smoke and too little light.

The Crave – Portsmouth
First night of the tour so I took a few photos in sound check … to be honest the venues sound was so poor it kept me from fighting my way through the capacity crowd to the far side of the stage where the entrance to the photo pit was. I thought things would be easier on the next couple of nights … I was wrong!
