Pure Jam @ Hallcross, Doncaster Saturday 9th July 2011

By Bitchin Rock Mistress

Opening tonight were a Punk band called Adulescents UK. Having been off the scene for 5 years, tonight was their first gig in a while.

They’d brought in a good crowd of people with them. Great to see there are still some ‘original’ punks around. A great set from the guys.

I didn’t take pics of their set tonight, was soaking up the atmosphere and watching, ┬ádancing guy čśë (He was brilliant, really getting into each song and letting go with his dancing).

MrRob may have a few snaps though

Pure Jam

As a rule I don’t go to watch or shoot ┬áTribute bands. But last night I made an exception for Pure Jam. Fronted by a good friend of ours, Bo (also lead singer with Tobias).

As the name implies, they are a Pearl Jam tribute band.

Now I used to love Pearl Jam back in the day of Ten, Vitalogy, early 90s stuff. ┬áBut I don’t know much of their stuff since then. *Slap my hand*

I’ll be honest, for some of the gig last night, I got lost in the music, listening to some old Peal Jam favourites, I was loving it. Was enjoying snapping away, trying to get some shots through the wooden railings.

Bo has a cracking voice and he sings the songs with passion and joy, backed by some  amazing musicians, guitar work is superb.

I thoroughly enjoyed tonight.

For me, the best part of night was seeing Bo and Annette again. Friends we don’t see often enough and we really should make more of an effort to catch up more often.
